Transportation/Travel Arrangements

Our campus is located about 3 hours from the San Francisco Bay area, 1.5 hours from Sacramento, and 2 hours from Reno, Nevada.

Student should plan flights into and out of the Sacramento International Airport (SMF). We are unable to help with travel arrangements via the Bay Area airports (San Francisco and Oakland) because of the distance. 

The Woolman Semester offers a shuttle to and from the Sacramento airport at the beginning and end of the semester and at the beginning and end of each vacation. As a general rule we pick up at the airport at 3:00pm the day a semester begins or a vacation ends. Please plan flights that arrive in Sacramento by 3:00pm. Shuttles depart the Woolman campus at 3:00 pm the day a vacation starts. Plan flights out of Sacramento 6:30 pm and later. Additionally, local students often drive past the airport on their way home, and can drop a student off. For other times, Super Shuttle offers a service to the Grass Valley/Nevada City area, and can be reached at (800)258-3826. 

Our nearest Amtrak stations are Auburn and Colfax. Students can arrive there from many destinations, including the Bay Area. Reservations are not usually required, except on holiday weekends. The toll-free number for reservations is 800-872-7245 or you can make online reservations with Amtrak.com. We offer transportation to and from the Amtrak station in Auburn, since it is en route to Sacramento for the airport shuttle. Please check with Amtrak for arrival and departure times. Amtrak schedules are subject to change. Please confirm times within 7 days of travel dates.

Student Activity Fee accounts will be charged for the price of fuel for Woolman shuttles to and from the airports and Amtrak station.
